Drakes View Villa is perched 300 feet above the shimmering turquoise and blue waters of the Caribbean Sea at the foothills of Mount Sage, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. This location affords breathtaking views of the entire Sir Francis Drake Channel encompassing a dozen outlying islands of the BVI, St. Croix and St. John of the USVI, and the enchanting horizon of the Caribbean Sea beyond. The villa is ideally positioned to catch the cooling Tradewinds of the tropics.

     Drakes View was completely renovated in 2002 having been updated with all the amenities for the perfect Caribbean vacation.  It is centrally located on the southern shore of Tortola, minutes from Road Town, many fine restaurants, and the beautiful white sand beaches of the north shore.  There is ample parking for six to eight cars. Airport pickup and assistance in obtaining a rental car will be provided to our renters. A four door, 4 WD, air-conditioned Suzuki will be provided for home exchangers only.

     The villa contains three well appointed bedrooms, each with remote controlled air-conditioning. The master bedroom features its own private balcony facing the sea, a queen size bed, and an ensuite dual sink bathroom with two ceiling fans and a large walk-in shower.  The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and a large window with a magnificent view of the flower gardens below and several of the islands on the sea beyond.  The third bedroom contains two twin beds. Each of the bedrooms has ceiling fans in addition to the remote controlled air-conditioning.

     A second hall bathroom with a ceiling fan and another large walk-in shower is shared by the second and third bedrooms.  In the laundry room, on the same level, is a second large refrigerator for storing all those cold drinks.

     The pool at Drakes View, with its eight feet deep end and submerged shelf for sitting and sipping in the water, is surrounded by a sunning deck.  A large veranda runs the entire length of the villa on the ocean side where one gets a view that has to be seen to be believed! There are several chairs, tables and lounges for relaxing with a good book and watching the boats sail down the channel.  The entire pool and veranda area is gated and walled for complete privacy. This spacious veranda is ideal for entertaining.

     Drakes View Villa has a traditional Antilles style with high vaulted ceilings and highlighted with Caribbean colors throughout. It is very nicely furnished and decorated with original art. The Great Room features a high quality television with DVD/VCR player and a stereo system with a 400 CD capacity, containing a wide variety of over 300 CDs. The library of over 150 DVD movies is available for viewing. A built in bar serves the Great Room with a large assortment of glassware. The dining area seats six around a carved teak table.  The breakfast/casual dining space adjacent to the kitchen seats four.

     The modern kitchen, with spacious tiled counter tops, features a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and water filtration system. For the gourmet cook the kitchen has every pan, pot and implement needed to cook, bake or bar-b-que, (a gas grill is located outside, just beyond the back kitchen door).  The working pantry off the kitchen not only provides extra storage but also houses a coffee maker, blender, juicer, toaster oven, chopper, steamer and waffle iron.  Having this area for kitchen appliances keeps the ample kitchen counters free for cooking and entertaining.  The kitchen is stocked with dinnerware for twelve and hand painted Italian pottery to highlight your entertaining.

     Drakes View is covered by a wireless network for convenient high speed use of your laptop anywhere on the property. A wireless card will be provided if your laptop does not have internal WiFi.
