If you are looking for a quiet holiday on a beautiful unspoilt crime-free island with excellent restaurants and empty beaches, Virgin Gorda, the second largest of 40 islands in the British Virgins, is ideal. Sorry, no casinos, glitzy hotels, or golf courses, just reefs and sea and mountain parkland.

Our house, Oran-na-Mara, sits high on a hillside overlooking the North Sound and its colourful reefs and islands and is angled to catch the best of the tradewinds as well as the magnificent view.

After passing through the gardens below the road you enter directly into the large open pool area with a spacious private main bedroom on your right and the great room and two other double bedrooms on your left. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and have en suite bathrooms. Beyond the great room is a large covered outside patio where you can enjoy the sunset or a dinner prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen. There is also a large dining table in the great room. All rooms are beautifully furnished with a mix of island furniture and European antiques.

Water activities, beaches, food and souvenir stores, and fine restaurants are only minutes away.

To reach Virgin Gorda, you can fly via San Juan or Antigua to Beef Island airport on Tortola, the biggest of the British Virgin Islands, then take the North Sound Express on a delightful half-hour ferry ride to Leverick Bay, where you will be met and taken on the 5 minute ride to Oran Na Mara. It is also possible to fly direct to Virgin Gorda from San Juan on Air Sunshine (1-800-327-8900 or 1-284-495-8900).

Our home is managed by Virgin Gorda Villa Rentals, whose office is in Leverick Bay. In our absence, they will ensure that your vacation is hassle-free and can make arrangements in advance for car hire if you wish. Complimentary tennis facilities are also available to our guests.
